Lover's Lament

"Oh, I could just take you apart just to get rid of that 'I'm not human' attitude of yours, you know...See how long your cold untouchability will last, hmm?"

They slid a freezing hand underneath the other's shirt and laid it on his shirt. Wide eyes met blank, tired ones.

"You you feel that? It's called a heartbeat,"they murmured. "You try so hard to be inhuman, not like everyone else when you clearly are."

The other began to hyperventilate because they both could feel his heart pounding. He didn't like it at all. No one got close for a reason.

The Master of Death had lived a very long time in misery. His lover had left him ages ago due to his mortality. But Death had offered his Master a way to get his lover back again. He just hoped that Death was right.
