Love is beautiful, love is light, love is kind. Love grows from beauty and flourishes from radiance... right?

But what about darkness? Can love grow from shared fears, shared demons, shared pain?

When Austin and Dani, two people as flawed as they come, are introduced by their mutual friend Abbie, sparks fly.
But these are not the sparks of light and love -- these are sparks of pain and hate. So what happens when Austin and Dani realize they are both surrounded by the same demons, the same pain, living in the same messed up world where happiness seem to exist only to be crushed by a new sort of tragedy?

Will their scars bring them closer to the edge? Or love and a new life?

Not even when he shouts at her and hits her. Jessie's best friend, Kolleen, can't stand seeing her in that situation. With a bit of convincing - and the worst beating she'd ever received - Jessie agrees to move into an apartment with Kolleen. But not long after, Jessie is scared the worst of her nightmares will soon become a reality. Josh goes missing, and suddenly Jessie would swear she's being followed. One night changes everything, and one person soon changes Jessie's outlook. A responding officer from that fateful night begins to seek her out, at first claiming it's part of his job. As she spends time with her new friend outside of his job, she starts realizing that her feelings are evolving. After being abused for over a year, Jessie is terrified she's falling in love. What's even more terrifying is that he might be, too. She isn't ready for love. Not yet. She makes up her mind that if he is falling, and if he does love her, he'll wait for her to be ready, and if she loves him, she won't let herself hurt him. Daniel Johnson used to have a pretty good life for a sixteen year old. He had plenty of friends at school, he got semi good grades in his classes, he played sports, his parents were proud of him, he always got everything he ever needed or wanted without having to work for it. People envied him for how easy his life was and he had a number of girls crushing on him even claiming they slept with him. It seemed like nothing could go wrong for him or so he thought. All it took was one horrible event to take place at a party to change his whole life forever. Everyone he once called friends turned their backs on him as soon as they heard the news. None of them believing a single word that came out of his mouth including his own parents. So with no one on his side, a reminder of the event growing in his womb and his parents telling him they don't want him Daniel is placed in a foster home hours away in another town. A foster home with a family willing to take him in. And as the weeks go by with the help of his counselor and a new friend, Daniel is starting to heal and even fall in love. But will he be able to have a happy ending? Or will tragedy strike again and push Daniel to the edge? [Contains male pregnancy]
