A southern blademaster known as Inu is sent on a quest to track and assassinate the murderers of his Empire's ruler. Strange lands and people, hardship and trial, plus the odd monster-like fauna of the world create a wonderful and gritty experience for the seasoned shinobi.
Trained in the arts of combat, monster-hunting and tactics, Inu needs to make good use of all his skills in order to survive the eerie northern lands.
Inu is my attempt to somehow merge philosophy and grimdark fantasy, to explore different faces of the human self, to somehow unveil the gearworks of our minds, while interlacing these inner journeys with a fast-paced, action-packed, sometimes gory narrative.
Due to the nature of the manuscript (as I aim for around 200k words), I won't upload an entire chapter, but bits of chapters in order to make the reading experience more enjoyable for this wonderful community.
I have been working at this book for about one year now, and I have been studying creative writing quite thoroughly ever since 2013, and I hope you will enjoy my work!

(I'm a massive fan of the monster hunting genre.) Written from Sep 2011 until April 2014. This was the very first adult romance I'd written and has a plethora of problems. Despite this, I won't do further editing as I'm putting my efforts into a full re-write. Author's note - Please be mindful of what you're saying when commenting. I'm happy with helpful criticism, spelling/grammar pointers, questions or simple chatter. However, a tirade of needless, unhelpful complaints and just outright rude commentary is not welcome. My stories are terrible first drafts, they're going to be riddled with issues, so just politely highlight if you feel there's a problem. I'll listen and likely take on board the criticism. All demons are grey in the dark
"All cats are grey in the dark." This is a proverb. It means that in the dark, you can't tell one cat from another. In a figurative sense, it could also mean that someone who has too little information can't properly assess the situation. They can't distinguish between good and evil. When the Demon King died, the black line separating good and evil was broken. Demons find themselves, demons seek themselves. Demons are evil, demons are good. Demons remain lonely, demons find the family they didn't know they were searching. But how can you tell them apart if you can't see in the darkness? How can you judge whether you're doing the right thing when all you can see is grey? And in the deepest darkness of ignorance, confusion, the darkness of a decline of selfishness and ignorance, only the cats seem to see through the darkness. This story is a tragedy, just like Demon Slayer. There is an ending. Is it a good one? A bad one? Is the dried cat blood on the ground worth it? Was it all worth it, were the dead, the lost, worth it, just so someone switches the light button on? Was it all worth it when you look around and realize that cat blood is just as crimson as a human's? ...Basically: "What if the hashira didn't fall into the infinity castle?"
