This is the story of a teenage girl named Jada, who grew up abandoned and beaten by almost everyone around her in one way or another. Her parents were divorced when she was 3 months old, and from there on she had a very difficult life. She deals with her abusive father, absent mother, bullies at school, self-hated, and the memories of her brother who committed suicide. Things start to look up for Jada when she moves in with her grandparents and gets a boyfriend, but her mind is a battlefield, a war between remembering and forgetting. Will she be able to move on with her life? Or will her past ruin her completely?
