A cat?

One strange fictional story. I hope you'll like it.
This one was inspired by a book series I read a long time ago and actually had a dream about.

Derora wants a special spirit animal and she happens to get one, a cat. An animal that no one had as a spirit animal for hundreds of years, so long ago that everyone started to believe it was a myth.

What's more worrying is that his sheer presence is making other spirit animals restless.

What is the cat's true nature?
