The final coup for the justification of its existence has been the Central bank's role as the 'lender of last resort'. How many people are aware that the need for such a role was unwittingly created by the Central Bank itself? In other words, the need would not exist without the Central Bank! It has simply been inadvertently baked into the Central Bank monetary design.All Rights Reserved
