My hand shook while holding the gun. Why couldn't I pull the trigger?
"That's right," he was being arrogant. "You can't."
I told myself to shoot, but my finger was literally frozen in place and wouldn't cooperate. "Stupid finger!"
He chuckled. He had the nerve to laugh at me. It seems like he knows something I don't. Like, why my body was acting strange around him. Or why I couldn't pull the trigger.
"What did you do to me?"
"I didn't do anything, sweetheart," he said coldly. "Fate has."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"Sweetheart, we belong together," he stated as if it was the obvious.
I'm screwed.
