Be wary where your journey takes you, traveller. For if you are not careful, you may stumble into a little town called Madhallow. At first it may appear to be a village like any other. but on its very border exists a tower larger than any other on earth. No one would dare go near it, for the second you try to appraoch it you would feel a dread rise within you that could break the most hardend of men.

Behind its black walls exists a cult with one goal in mind; to see thier leader ascend as a god and recreate the world as an undying land. For hundreds of years they have hidden away, schemeing and plotting, all the while building an army of artificial warriors in their quest to reshape the world. But one of these unfortunate creatures has found himself in a most curious posistion indeed. For but a few moments after his birth, Subject 88 was told he was going to die.

This is not a story about gods and monsters, nor is this a tale about conquering heroes. This is the song about a creature trying to find a place to call home. This is the ballad of a man called Ruinior.

But unfortunately, that also means I'm not there to celebrate with you, I'm so sorry about that. I never thought I'd have to write this journal, but here I am. You're probably very confused, and I don't blame you, but your father wouldn't be able to properly explain to you everything about yourself, And if I don't make it, which I fear I don't, and I probably didn't or you wouldn't be reading this, there's got to be some way for you to find out, So, let's begin ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- His friend forces him on a hunting trip, where instead of a monster he finds quite the opposite... or so he thinks. Soon things start to get confusing. What happens when a dark past gets revealed? And old acquaintances show up? What exactly happened to his mother? Strange people, strange events, and most prominently, strange feelings... Can he resist them and stay safe? AVAILABLE ON AMAZON & KINDLE On the planet Keodis, upon the western continent, Uestron, inside the Raesifiin Empire, in the small naval city of Cyripo, the story begins when thirteen diverse strangers answer a strange pamphlet to a quest. The quest is to find a powerful gem in the Deep Forest, and then to use what powers it bestowed on them to delve into the Mountain Barrier. There, they will have to find the Light to dispel the growing Darkness within. Though this qest is honorable and righteous, the dangers that await them are exponentially worse than they could ever imagine. Whether they can save the world depends on whether they can survive themselves. Mature rating for blood, gore and depictions of violence. TW: mentions of drunkards and beer, mention of physical abuses, a description of trypophobia, claustrophobia, and other phobias, and descriptions of nasty cryptids. There is no depictions or allusions of sex, no f-bombs, or drug abuse. This story was started when I was in seventh grade. I finished the original when I was a senior in high school. Displeased with the finished product, I began to rewrite it here, starting June 2015, then again in 2020. I am quite satisfied with the result, and am sure this will be the final edition. This isn't the first book of the series, but there's no spoilers for 'The World is Larger than it Seems', so you can start on this one. The story is far from finished, however, and I hope to eventually finish the series.
Gamleon's Tail ~ Welcome to the worlds of : Within ~ by Cicada3300

I wrote this for EVERYONE. An introduction to my universe.Best for slow , attentive , close reading. Stick with it. When you get to the action parts (which doesn't take long ) you should be invested enough to want to unravel the mystery and enjoy its intrigue.. The flood is raging. A terrifying, heartless mountain of water, swallowing the world in inevitable finality. The tunnel networks? Of course, that won't save them. The forests? Like leaves in a breeze. The lookout towers and trade hubs? Gone. Washed clean. What does it take to take everything? Every home, every name, every last trace of what once was. And who would do such a thing? And how? No one has ever seen anything that would make them believe in magic. Gamleon is the first to see and to survive. His mind near collapse under the strain, his heart broken. He runs. What would you do? What could anyone do? A world of mythological beasts and medieval men, where Gorgon hordes slither beneath the earth, clawing for metal, for power, for anything. But they come for your children. Opulent kings wage wars over things no one can even recall, blind to the coming obliteration. There is an isolated, forgotten place. A cavern, magnificent and vast, older than civilization. A place where the weird and the unwanted might ride out the cataclysm. In this special place, something incredible, cut off from the outside, lurks. Something... you won't be ready for or ever expect. Our weary, world-worn adventurer is a paradox: terrifying perhaps, yet tender, grotesque but with a quiet dignity bordering on noble, intimidating and innately intelligent. With no choice but to navigate the unexpected Gorgon tunnels, his inner thoughts help us all learn how to persist and triumph in the face of impossible odds. Join him and be swept away as he reconciles never-before-seen innovations and insurmountable challenges. Dignity and hope. Self-respect and courage.

Waking up face down in mud sucks any day of the week. But coming around in the sludge of a strange realm...? Well, that just redefines a bad day altogether. Trapped in an unfamiliar world, sixteen-year-old Quinn is frustrated that none of the strange Tree People appreciate his urgency to get back home to earth. Now he is faced with a choice that could change the course of his life: escape and find his own way home, or stay and help them find the cause of the poison ravishing their world. When the mind-reader unlocks one of the ancient mysteries of the Tree People it points to the only way of saving them from annihilation: they have to find the Power of Light. What exactly that means, the mind-reader doesn't reveal, but his next warning comes as a shock to all present: finding the mysterious Power of Light can only be done with the help of the dangerous enemy tribe whom they once called family. Quinn soon finds himself a little more entangled in the lives of these gifted beings than he'd care to be. Especially after meeting Jazz: the feisty girl from his world who seems to be a regular visitor to the world of Zoay. To Quinn's constant frustration, the aqua-eyed pixie makes it clear that she's not there to make friends. On their journey they'll brave bizarre encounters in dangerous alien forests, while sacrificing pride and will for the survival of all. Along the way Quinn finds more than he ever thought to seek: purpose, fulfillment and love. When the Power of Light is finally found a devastating discovery is made: if all of Zoay-including their enemy-want to live and prosper, one must be willing to sacrifice their life.
