"I have a more personal question," she ignored his arrogance. Watching him had sparked a new interest that seemed to overpower any interest she had in their previous conversation. "Oh?" he seemed surprised but didn't allow it to affect his composure. "Go ahead then." "Why me?" "I beg your pardon?" Sirius seemed confused. Marlene felt embarrassed asking it but it wouldn't be the first time it had danced around in her head. Sirius was the type of guy that could have any girl he wanted. He was smart, funny, immeasurably handsome, and he bloody well knew it. Though he was bit egotistical at times, his hot headedness had seemed to settle down immensely from the boy she had known from fifth and sixth year. "Of all the girls you could have picked from, you chose me. I want to know why." Sirius was looking at her funny - it was not quite the reaction she had been expecting. "Of all the girls I could have picked from. What exactly is that supposed to mean? Isn't it obvious?" * It's Marlene's seventh year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and she has graduated from blundering student to emotional train wreck. She knew that seventh year was going to be challenging, but she never imagined that N.E.W.T.s would be the least of her worries. The pressure of suppressing her emotions begins to take its toll, and it's only a matter of time before she breaks. She knows that she must tell Sirius how she truly feels if they ever stand a chance. As she struggles to win Sirius back, dark forces continue to loom over Hogwarts. Suddenly, Marlene finds herself immersed in something unexpected; threatening everything she knows and loves. Relationships blossom, alliances are formed, and adventures continue as Marlene and her friends enjoy their last moments before the war. They must rely on one another to fight the darkness, and together she and Sirius may just have a fighting chance after all. Highest Rank: #1 Blackinnon 03.13.21

[The Marauders Series] ❝Some people are like stars. They fall to make other's wishes come true.❞ _Anonymous. Not all students find Astronomy interesting. And in that list of students, the topmost is James Fleamont Potter. Arrogant, cocky and popular, James Potter is quite the golden boy of Hogwarts. Favorite of almost every Professor, envied by most students, shining star of Quidditch, part of an entrusted group of friends known as the Marauders... Potter seems to have everything in his school life. Everything except Lily Evans. And, well, shining grades for that matter. He manages to scope a few Os and Es here and there but still a few subjects such as Astronomy and Arithmancy only bestow him Ps or even below. To most, he may seem as the boy with a dream life and yet to the other half, he comes around as a prejudiced Gryffindor, a hothead and not to forget an arrogant bully. Felicity Latvia is one of those who regards him as such and is not at all pleased when she is paired with him during Astronomy. *** This is not a James Potter x OC love story, James is the main character and the fanfic focuses on him more than the rest of the Marauders so his name is included in the title. I had been working on four fanfics for the Marauders Series, one for each of them, but that doesn't necessarily mean that said Marauder would be the love interest. *** ✴️ Highest Ranking: #1 in wizardingwar #1 in adversity #1 in maraudersfanfiction #2 in orderofthephoenix #3 in siriusblack #6 in jamespotter

"You should tell him, you know," a familiar voice softly said from behind her. "I know you love him." "Remus," she began turning around to face her friend, "You know I can't do that. He's my best friend, and h-he's in love with his perfect Lily-flower," Elsie sighed as tears began forming in her eyes. "But, Elsie... you don't see the way he looks at you, he-," his sentence was cut off by the girl with tears running down her face. "I don't see how he looks at me, but I see how he looks at her! And, t-that's enough to know that I will n-never be good enough to be with h-him," she snapped through stifled words. "But why don't you just tell him? Why don't you let yourself have a chance at happiness for once?" he asked stepping forwards, wiping her cheeks with his thumbs. "Because...loving him is a losing game. Either way, I'm the one getting hurt," Elsie whispered, falling into the arms of the boy in front of her.
