The Everfrost

There is no spring.
There is no green grass.
The only thing known of the world of Gelida is snow, ice, frigid waters, and struggle. If there was a reason things changed, nobody can recall, nor are they certain things were ever any different. Life is hard in this barren land, but humanity persists.
However, there are much worse dangers to this world than frostbite and hypothermia.
In the dead of twilight, creatures called Azreifs awake and haunt the chilled night, viciously slaughtering all humans they come across. Nobody knows why they're here. Nobody questions it.
In this world, to question is to die.

For mysterious reasons, the Azreifs begin to become active during earlier hours and cause chaos within the many human towns. In an effort to find out the cause and how to stop them, three unlikely heroes from very different backgrounds band together and plunge themselves deeper into their frozen world.

There's Callus Zoe, the youngest Ward Captain at 19, who's well liked by most citizens of Orfiem. He's kind and very fatherly, but he won't hesitate to get aggressive in order to protect and serve the law. Contrary to him, Hester LeRois is an bratty noble who places herself over most other people, even though she's only 15. However, she actually displays great intelligence and agency for herself. Lastly, there's Alex Mariishiv, a timid 13-year-old wanderer. Despite his appearance and young age, Alex is a resourceful fighter and has proven that after living on his own for the past 3 years.
As the three traverse the icy regions, they face great challenges that change them and reveal more about the origins of Gelida. Will they be able to save their world, or will they meet a chilly, violent end?
