Appledusk, who is known for being the former mate of Mapleshade and the father of her kits, is brutality murdered by the same she-cat who he once called his mate.

Joining StarClan, he is approached by his mother who grants him a second chance at life, but more importantly, a second chance to fix the mistake that had brought him here.
Now a kit again, ready to live his life out, he faces a challenge which he must decide. Re-live his past mistake, or create a brand new path that'll be able to help only one of the she-cats mooning over him.
