It was Valentine's Day and Marinette had finally worked up the courage to tell Adrien how she felt. She'd planned out the whole day-- down to the very last second on the clock-- and the only thing left to do was send the video she'd recorded with Alya's help. So it was only fitting that life tossed her a curve-ball in the shape of a leather-clad, pun-spewing superhero landing softly on her balcony with a rose tucked into his belt, throwing her carefully laid-out plan into disarray.
"H-he just... Chat Noir- I-" The girl cut off with a loud whine. "That blasted cat just kissed me!"

Ladybug paused, caught off guard. She leaned in. "Oh? Who's the lucky person?" Chat scratched his head, flustered. "I don't want to say too much, but she's amazing-funny, kind, talented, and real. I can be myself around her." Ladybug smiled, her heart warming. "That sounds wonderful, Chat. I'm glad you've found someone like that." Chat grinned, a bit sheepish. "It was unexpected. I had these strong feelings for you for so long, but now I realize it was more admiration." Ladybug's heart skipped a beat. Chat had been infatuated with her, but she had never been able to return his feelings. "That's a good realization, Chat," Ladybug said gently. "I know what it's like to think you're in love, only to realize maybe it wasn't." Chat's eyes brightened. "Wait, are you... seeing someone too?" Ladybug nodded. "Yes. I've been spending time with someone. He's thoughtful, always makes me smile. I think I'm falling for him." Chat's eyes widened in surprise, but he smiled genuinely. "That's amazing, m'lady! You deserve that." "Thanks, Chat." Ladybug smiled. "I think we've both grown, realizing we needed to open up to others, to find happiness beyond our masks." He nodded. "For the longest time, I thought being in love with you was my only option, but now, she makes me feel something I didn't know I could. I think I'm falling in love with her." Marinette took a deep breath as if she was taking her final if she was getting ready to do the most disturbing thing of her life. Well, she sort of was. Lately, she had been following Adrien and Lila after hearing the rumour of them being together. Marinette didn't believe it, and no matter how stalkerish that sounded, she still wanted to find out herself. She wanted to see it with her own two eyes. Finally, she leaned over and peeked at the corner, where Adrien and Lila were sitting on a bench. Marinette could feel her eyes widening when she saw both lips pressed against each other's, both of them engaged in a kiss, which shattered Marinette's heart. She had hoped that her crush wasn't dating another girl, but here she was, seeing them kiss with her own two eyes. The situation made her upset, but her stomach also hurt from the anger she was feeling. She clenched onto her stomach and willed herself not to cry, but instead, her legs gave way and she landed on her knees, more unsettling anger rushing through her body like large waves. This was too much to handle. As tears escaped from her eyes, Marinette didn't notice the small dark butterfly fluttering towards her. Instead, she covered her face and forced herself not to scream, tried to get up from her knees and walk away, pretending she hadn't seen anything. But it wasn't easy, and when she finally looked up to see the Akuma, it was already too late. One of Marinette's rules had always been not letting Hawk Moth control her, but that all changes when Marinette catches her crush kissing a girl, his new girlfriend. Marinette feels shattered by the sight and wasn't strong enough to control her anger.
