Elizabeth didn't have the best life. Her mother constant blamed her for her father leaving and hurt her not only emotionally but physically. Then she was bullied by a guy she had to be with everyday. The only bright thing was her best friend, Mollie.
But when Lizzie is only 4, 9/11 happens. Mollie and her mother die and Lizzie goes into a coma. When she wakes up it's been a year. She's quickly adopted by a family, but they don't really love her. Once she turns 18 she runs away.
Then she meets Hunter, a complete jerk who's looking for something good in life. Turns out he's the guy who bullied Lizzie when she was younger. But when Hunter reveals his true feelings and wants to be wherever she is, everything starts to look up for her.
But she still has something missing. She assumes it's her father and tries to find him.
