At the young age of nine, Mariane's parents passed. Though she never knew how they died she never wanted to know either. Years later, she loses her job and applies for a new one in the King family mansion where she starts working under Alecander King. He is a possessive and devilishly handsome man. Mariane is undeniably attracted to him. Alecander is instantly intrigued by her feisty personality and stubbornness, nor can he deny her beauty. All she wants is to break down his walls. Will she be able to? Or will they both end up broken?

'He shot the man straight between the eyes.
"Take this as an example, Mariane. If any man ever touches you," he paused and looked at the body, "they'll end up like poor Victor. No man is to take what's mine, especially not you." With that, he carried me and my life away with him.
Loving him can't be so bad. But you don't get to choose love. Some days he's good, he's Alec, other days he's a ruthless monster, the devil walking. But we all can learn to love a devil, right?'
