"People think big cities are the places with the most things to fear. Violence, crime, theft. Small towns get overlooked sometimes. They shouldn't be."
Xanthe Forrest just moved to Saran Falls. She's wary of the impenetrable community, where everyone knows each other so well. But she's also unconcerned with being the new girl. High school is nearly over and she'll be heading off to college soon anyway. At least, that's the plan.
Then she begins to notice a strange hostility within the town. A tension that causes people to watch what they say and look twice over their shoulders. She's discouraged from snooping around and asking questions but that just makes her all the more curious.
That's when Quinn draws her attention. He doesn't attend any classes but he's always around the school and sitting with a group at lunch. He's at least three years older, she'd seen him purchasing alcohol, but he never drinks. And he's got his eye on everything. Including the two new Forrest girls. Xanthe knows he holds the answers to the strange hostility in Saran Falls but getting close to Quinn is a lot harder than she thinks.

THIS IS NOT A VAMP/WERE STORY! I REPEAT, NOT A FANTASY.
