When new intel comes through about a Hydra weapon, the avengers split into two teams, one checking out a new base, while the other scours an old one. It's no coincidence that the intel comes through, and they find files about experiments done to one person. 'winter 2.0' the team calls her, but to Bucky, the fear sinks in as memories resurface about one soldier in particular, Ace. Stronger, deadlier and she made the winter soldier in him afraid. Why does one of the men stand out? Who is he, and why does she have an overwhelming need to protect him? Thor wants nothing more than to destroy every single person who had hurt her, his need to protect her burning within him.
