Gem Williams is almost your typical Cinderella. Evil step-mother, check. Bi*chy step-sisters, check check. Crap home life, check. Slave status, check. The 'almost' part is because 1. Her father is still alive although barely there 2. No little mice friends to comfort her 3. No fairy godmother and the most obvious of all 4. No dashing Prince Charming to whisk her away from her life of servitude.
It's her senior year, her final year of high school, so maybe things might change...
This book is currently on hold while I study for and do my exams which will be over by the end of June. So if you want to read this book then add it to your library and there will be an update at the end of June.

Sweet Dreams: A Modern Fairytale
This is inspired by a writing project I supervised when I worked with an elementary student. This writing project was a group project to make their own spin on a fairy tale assigned to the group. It had to have all the main points of their fairy tale, start and and with the common phrases of a fairy tale, and it had to have their own creative spin. My student did Cinderella, and it was so fun to work with him and his group, I wanted to make my own. Our dear Cinderella loves to bake, but she's not exactly looking for love when an opportunity to make a name for herself comes up. As for Prince Charming, he is looking for love, just not in the usual fairy tale fashion. And as usual, there's some extra mischief from the step family, royal family, and fairy godmother. He has average looks, he is OK with sports, and his only strong point is that he is smart (although that doesn't mean much to his fellow classmates). And, of course, his virgin ass has never had a girlfriend, let alone a crush. It seemed as if he would never find someone. That was until he met her, Scarlett Hale. She was the most beautiful girl you will ever meet. Kind, sweet, and one of the few people with a higher GPA then him, she was amazing and Aiden imagined that she would be all his. Once Aiden gets rid of her boyfriend, Aaron Tyler. The most annoying guy you will ever meet, Aiden gags just thinking about him. The man is smoking hot and makes Aiden's dreams of getting the girl to seem very impossible. So what would happen if Aiden gets involved with the wrong person? Will Aiden get the girl? Will he fall short? Or will he fall into the arms of a guy who is in love with the girl he loves? _______________________________________ WARNING: First book EVER!
