10 years ago a one year old dragon hatchling was stolen from his family, his mother being killed in the process. His Father and brothers morn there mother and looked for him till 3 years later the death of there father came. At they point they had lost hope of finding there brother, Virgil, until they meet a young boy named Anxiety.

Janus Owens would do absolutely anything in his power for his little brother Virgil. The chances of a sixteen-year-old getting adopted weren't very large, when you throw in Janus's medical history, and the fact that he and Virgil are pretty much a package deal, the chances came down to pretty much zero. Virgil however... Sweet, kind, nine-year-old Virgil didn't suffer from any visible health issues (not like Janus who was all but covered in burn scars). Now he still had a chance. And the agency was more than aware of that. So when a great opportunity comes along that might just end with at least one of the Owen's brothers finding a home Janus is presented with their 'wonderful' and 'brilliant' decision that would in the end 'be better for everyone'. Virgil and Janus would be separated. Virgil would go on to be fostered by a family who was looking to adopt and Janus would remain in foster care until he too found a family (unlikely) or until he aged out.
