Ten-year-old Aspen finds it difficult moving into a new town. Silent, lonely, and quite standoffish, he has yet to make friends and find a fulfilling life. However, his entire world is flipped upside down when he finds a terrifying wolf spider in his bedroom. Before killing it, though, he realizes that there's something more to the creature. Maybe, just maybe, the arachnid needs somebody as well. Maybe, just maybe, the spider is his key to happiness.
(Just practicing writing using a little short story inspired by the numerous friendly interactions between humans and other animals, including spiders!)
