Ilana can't wait to start her first job in space even though it's caused a rift with her astrophobic family. She expects gravity sickness to be the most of her worries until her first trip on the Lunar shuttle goes horribly wrong.

Gabriel can't wait to get off the planet either. But his shuttle out of Cape Canaveral goes sideways and he ends up adrift in space in a damaged emergency raft - with an alluring stranger and a dead body on board. Not to mention the disturbing cargo they find hidden in the walls.

Rescue isn't far off but the real danger lies in the plot Ilana and Gabriel uncover, thrusting them into the middle of a power struggle between humans, gods, and the devils who would turn the Sol galaxy into dust. Will Ilana and Gabriel's bond be strong enough to save humanity from a new stone age? Or will forces from the beyond tear them apart, dooming the planet with them?
