Dazai Osamu could not dream of anything better than double suicide, a tragically romantic end to someone without a story.
Nakahara Chuuya, king of the sheep, wanted nothing more than to rise in the mafia, to gain enough power to keep his "sheep" safe and live longer.
Yet when you are always dancing on the edge of a sharpened blade and high on adrenaline it would be a logical reaction to fall in love with someone. Right? But love was stupid and reckless and these two things were what got you killed.

After Dostoyevesky's death having Dazai nearly witnessing the death of all of his friends, he finally has an actual change in heart.
