An enemy though to be dead raises up from the ruins of the old league. Yet again ninjago is in danger. 
It's been two years since the league had fallen and all of its activity died with it.  But one day, the ninja start to notice that something isn't right anymore. 
Will they be able to stop the growing darkness this time?

Note: this book is the sequel to the book Mission: Green. I suggest reading it first.

In the present day, the ninja, Kai, Cole, Jay, Nya, and Zane, with their masters, Wu and Garmadon, discover a large organization of the same assassins that attacked Misako and Garmadon being lead by a powerful and dangerous foe on an unknown island they never knew about-the Dark Island. This foe was unlike others, he was the eternal enemy of the First Spinjitzu Master. Together, the ninja team work their way over to the island to try and fight them, not knowing that a small group, who aren't so different from the ninja, are already working on it.
