"What are you?"
His grin broadened; teeth glimmering in the dim light of the moon. He approached, face terrifying and beautiful in the silver light. His eyes peered into my soul, as if driving a knife straight through my existence. As he did so, ebony veins pulsed beneath his eyes, canines elongating like a feral animal.
I shuddered as his lips came within a hair's breadth of my ear. He braced himself against the wall, trapping me. His breath was flame-like as he whispered very quietly:
"The very same beast that harbors within you, she-wolf."
Victoria had never wanted to spend the rest of her days as a domestic servant, she yearned for something more than what life had given her. As an orphan with only a strange white necklace as evidence she once had parents, she plans to discover the reason for her mother and father's deaths. When the opportunity comes, she flees from the master's house.
She did not plan, however, for that opportunity to come as a well dressed and attractive man, whose secrets pull Victoria into a world full of legend, romance and an age old prophecy that endangers everything she has ever known.
