However after an unlikely encounter in a darkened alley, Damian comes to the harrowing realisation that he has actually been in love with her the entire time. What's worse? Marinette is under the assumption that Damian hates her. Damian needs to fix this, if he can only figure out how to talk to her without dissolving into an emotional mess. Prompt: Imagine a world where we didn't hate each other. That would be so (fill in the blank) --- This is literally watching Damian turn into goo around Marinette after realizing he loves her. (This was originally a one-shot on Ao3 but I separated it into chapters here because a 28k one-shot is excessive. It only ended up that way because it was originally part of a Maribat writing contest and couldn't be a chapter fic. (Spoiler: I am the MGI 2024 Maribat Secret Writers champion! This was my round 3 submission.))
