The world was toxic and overrun with monsters. Even with their elemental abilities, humans could only survive in monarch ruled city-states, domed by energy shields that protect them from the virulent gases and dangerous beasts. But ununited in their survivability, people found ways to wage wars against each other.

The City of Bremen had lost the war. Severely low on manpower and fearing of an invasion of their city, they make entry to their Academies free - allowing even the poor to be trained in their elemental abilities. An opportunity Given Rowdy had been waiting his whole life for.

The Serpent Wall was high and long, spanning from one end of the world to the other. It protected them from the dangers of the southern forest, along with their energy shields, and thus very few were allowed to go past it. As the daughter of the emperor, Raylin Morgaine thought she had retained the privilege to do so. But it became apparent that she needed to prove her strength first, something that, fortunately, she found was becoming increasingly easy as she grew up.

After a while of putting up with Danny though, you had you're last straw ripped away when he hurt you're beloved Mary. You ran away to start a new life, taking Mary with you. You become known as "Shade", a mysterious cloaked criminal known for your stealth and strength. You took pride in your reputation, and the best part was, nobody knew anything about you. From your face down to you're gender, it was all concealed. It was all cloaked. But all this changed once they found you. They took you in, capturing you to mold you into a soldier fighting for the survey corps. You despised the survey corps at first. After all, they stole you from your home. Took you away from the people you loved. They ruined your life, right? But... did they? You're stubbornness and skill capture the attention of a certain short black haired male. Corporal Levi was humanities strongest though, he couldn't like you, could he? He couldn't... 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages.
