This is a retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale Rapunzel. I wrote this story in 1995, right after college, and I'll admit it's kind of silly. Just like in Disney's excellent film "Tangled," I took the name Gothel directly from the original tale because it sounded too chilling not to use. I hope you enjoy it!

Varian and the Seven Kingdoms (Varian's Seven Trials)
This is my take on the idea of a Varian spin-off series of Tangled: The Series/Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. The AU was presented to Disney by storyboarders Kay Ritter and Anna Lencioni who took a liking to Varian's character and decided to create a story for him in his later years; detailing the adventures he might go on and the friends he makes along the way. I'll likely take a lot of inspiration from other fans too and I think that's what's great about vat7k, we all inspire each other with our ideas! :) This is probably gonna be a long one, hope you enjoy!! "Our kingdom was once beautiful, but now the towers are everywhere. They say that Queen Rapunzel has lost her mind--and I believe them. Before, I might have felt sorry for her, but now I just fear her. I fear the sound of her soldiers pounding at the door, demanding that I be taken away. I fear the towers." Years after the original tale of Rapunzel took place, the kingdom--left to the grief-stricken Queen after her husband's death--is falling apart. People live in constant fear of the many terrible towers across the land, built by her Majesty's decree to imprison any who dare question her. Bird's nothing but a girl from the north, but when someone she cares about is taken by the mad Queen's soldiers, she'll stop at nothing to save them. With nothing but her friends, a sled, and a mind full of songs, she sets out to get rid of the towers, once and for all. Return to Say Goodbye
At the end of the fairytale "Rapunzel", Rapunzel and her prince return to their kingdom, where they supposedly live happily ever after. But the fate of the witch, Mother Gothel, is not mentioned. This is an alternate ending to the fairytale in which Gothel reappears... and it isn't pretty. I don't own "Rapunzel". And this is not in any way based on the movie Tangled.Concluida

No sooner have I stepped inside than someone speaks up, "Hand over your first born child, Gothel." I spin around to be faced with a mysterious pair of blue eyes and a wry smile. "Rumplestiltskin." I breathe, "I thought you went off to explore the world." "I did. Now I'm back. I will expect you to uphold your promise." He says, running a hand through his long, dark hair. "I made that promise when I was eight." I reply, thinking back. "I'm never going to get married and I'm never going to have children!" I declared decisively. "Really?" Rumplestiltskin inquired. "Yes. Boys are stupid." "Hey! That's not very nice." Rumplestiltskin whined, putting his hands on his hips. I stuck my tongue out. "Fine. Then if you are never going to get married, I suppose you won't mind agreeing to give me your first born child." He challenged. "Alright. Because it will NEVER happen!" "A promise is a promise." Rumplestiltskin says, "You must uphold your word." "For your information, this child isn't even mine." I respond. This takes Rumpelstiltskin by surprise. "She's not?" I explain what happened. "Well, she is a first born child, and now she's yours, so she IS your first born child." He decides.Concluida

Damaged, But Fixed.
Hiccup and Rapunzel have hard lives. Hiccup is abused by his father, lost his mother at a young age, has a medical problem and he also bullied and has no friends sadly. Rapunzel is adopted and doesn't even no it, she is barely aloud outside when she gets home from school, and she has magical hair that she has to keep hidden from everyone except her adoptive mother. One day, they both decide to run away from home and when they do they bump into each other. Many dangers are ahead of them. They discover secrets they never knew before. The main question is, why did the run away.? To find out, you must read. This is a Hiccunzel story. Credit for characters goes to Disney and Dreamworks.
