"No, I can't! And I don't even want to!" she cried, her tears falling faster than her words.
"Why are you doing this to yourself?" he asked, his tone breaking.
"Why does it even matter to you?" she snapped, her voice trembling with anger and ache.
He stepped closer, grabbed her by the waist, and pulled her into him.
"Please, just stop hurting yourself," he whispered, desperate now.
"No! Just leave me alone!" she screamed, pushing weakly against his chest.
"You're bleeding... please, just listen to me," he said, his voice soft but shaking.
She looked up at him through her tears.
"Don't," she whispered, her voice breaking.
"Don't care about me. It hurts... when you care."
