The world was ending, which was a pretty major bummer. But, as Lucy and Malcolm saw it, at least they had each other, and also a working jeep. However, unlike most, they couldn't care less about why the world was ending. The two just wanted a place to lay low and make art. Sure, it was totally uncool that towns and cities all over the world were being burned to the ground due to mass hysteria, but the lovers were filled with enough positive vibes (and a decent amount of weed) that they vowed to make this whole 'end-of-the-world thing' work.
