The story is about a boy named Asher who is being forced to fit into the stereotype of "the jock" and so being the jock makes him forget about what he wants for himself, however his life changes once the outcast named Matthew enters his life when they are assigned a project together. The two boys don't connect at first sight due to Asher's reputation, but throughout time; Matthew becomes more open about himself and shows who he truly is. The two bond together, however it isn't all fun and games when Asher gets a love confession by a girl named Chloe. Asher had been struggling hard with being alone all these years and with him being desperate for love, he quickly accepts the confession leaving Matthew to be alone by once again. When he thought that he'll never meet someone as good as Asher ever again, he meets a girl named Vivian on the school rooftop when he was crying his tears of devastation because of how Asher could be so cruel and end their friendship like it meant nothing at all. Vivian becomes his emotional support for a whole portion of the story, however she soons starts to develop feelings for Matthew since of how much they had been through together. Will these boys finally recognize the true meaning of what it's liked to be loved or will they just fall into the hands of both of these ladies?
