"Rose, gumising ka na diyan! Ang ating Ama, nandiyan na!" Nang marinig ko ang salitang Ama ay nagmamadali akong bumangon at nag-ayos ng sarili.

Ang Ama ang namumumo sa aming komunidad. Siya ang kinikilalang hari dito. Lahat sinusunod siya at kung hindi ka susunod sa mga utos niya ay malalang parusa ang matatanggap mo.

Nang matapos na ako sa pag-aayos ay tinakbo ko ang daan palabas ng bahay at tumabi sa aking ina. Sakto, nasa pangalawang bahay na ang Ama.

Napansin ko ang batang babaeng nasa edad 8 na hihingal hingal at magulo pa ang buhok at kasuotan na tumabi sa kanyang ina. Humawak siya sa bisig nito na animoy nawawalang tupa. Nakita ito ng Ama at tinitigan ang batang babae.

Bumaba siya sa mala-karwahe niyang sasakyan. Karwaheng imbis na kabayo ang naghihila ay tao ang kanyang pinapahila. Malupit ang Ama.  Sobrang lupit. Kung alam ko lang na ganito ang kalagayan ng komunidad namin ngayon sana pala ay sinunod ko na lamang ang aking ina sa kanyang utos. Sana hindi na ako bumalik dito at nakita ang kasamaan ng taong namumuno sa aming komunidad.

Bakit nga ba nagkaganito dito?
Paanong walang tumutulong sa amin?
Nasaan ang mga nasa gobyerno?
Wala na ba talaga kaming pag-asa?
