Leila Bolton has always been in her brother's shadow. He's the Wildcat superstar, and she's just another theatre kid who gets trampled by Sharpay and Ryan Evans. She is ignored and outcast in her own house, and finds no solace in anything or anyone. Except Chad Danforth.

Chad Danforth has been best friends with Troy Bolton since preschool. However, on more than one occasion, he has found himself more interested in Leila. He knows her in a way that no one else does, and anyone close to either of them can tell that they harbor more than just friendly feelings towards one another.
