Teenage inventor Avan Allen creates a one of a kind invention that can transport things and people from one parallel universe to another and vice versa. Elated by how well the invention works, Avan looks forward to winning the annual global inventing contest organized by the International Association of Inventors and bagging the prestigious Young Inventor of the Year award.
He accidentally brings a boy named Travis to his universe and when his invention experiences some technical difficulties, Travis is stuck in their universe, getting close and eventually becoming best friends with Avan. After getting the invention repaired, it gets mysteriously stolen, slimming Avan's chances of participating in the contest.
Now, Avan and Travis, with the help of his twin sister, Austin, and his crush, Wyndy, must find the invention in order to return Travis to his universe and Avan can stand a chance of winning the award.
