Her finger traced the white seams of the Neverseen emblem, which seemed to stare back up at her with its ghastly eye as she examined it. For once in her life, Jolie wanted to give up. She wanted to betray Brant's trust. What harm would it do to her  or her family if she revealed the Pyrokenetic's secret? But, as she replayed the memories with Brant in her mind, she knew that she could never give up Brant's trust...

Even if it meant her life.
