Farryn Price's life is loud, yet boring. Everything feels repetitive and dull, so to escape she writes her own stories. She would be with her friends if her guardians, her aunt and uncle, weren't so strict. So she feels stuck and rather alone.

Until one night when she goes out in her backyard late at night after yet another fight with her uncle and has a conversation with a stranger through the fence she shares with the new neighbors.

The following day she runs into Archer Jacobson, the trouble maker of the school that she has always tried to avoid. After she makes a negative comment about romance in class, Archer makes it his mission to prove her wrong.

Soon, Farryn is talking to the unknown boy through the fence every night, sharing deep thoughts and emotions with someone she doesn't even know the name of, and Archer is hanging around her all the time, slowly bringing her out of her shell.

Her life gets somehow quieter, much but less boring. Everything that was dull grows bright, and she no longer feels so stuck. But who helped her grow? Archer? Or the boy she shares the stars with?
