Everything fell apart after Congress passed the infamous bill to "help the economy". Everyone living paycheck-to-paycheck and on the streets already knew this was just code for finally killing off the poor. The upper, middle, and lower classes were split into factions. The upper and middle get to live comfortably, while the lower-class is deemed "Surplus". They work menial labor jobs for little in return. The system pits them against one another-eat or be eaten. Most can only dream of one day rising above their statuses and living normal lives. Jazmine Dubois, AKA: "Cherry Bomb" is a member of the infamous "Dark Angel" gang and is not to be messed with. Huey Freeman has to learn this the hard way when the two cross paths one day after he breaks into a Dark Angel storehouse.

They keep each other sane without even realizing it. It's always been the four of them. Until they meet them. Until she meets ℎ𝑖𝑚. Booker stopped caring a long time ago. Between taking care of his sick grandma, dodging bullets and keeping up with school, life is just something he's pushing through. The only things holding him together?
