The last time anyone saw Shawn was a long time go let's leave it at that. He used to be Cory's best friend. Now he's been living on his own for quite sometime. But now a walk in the woods changes everything. She and her parents were on a camping trip she was an only child she kind of dresses kind of like Maya and treats everyone the way Riley does and her personality is a combination of them both. When she was about 5 years old her parents told her to hide they got killed by a bear. She screamed. Shawn was in the woods and heard her scream he's the one that saved her from the bear. He knew he couldn't leave her out here all alone so he adopted her but never liked the idea of being called a dad and she'd been skeptical to even consider him as anyone other than Shawn. They moved into the city but no one knew Shawn was back she's 12 now in middle school today and she's ready to make some friends and stop being home schooled and meet her soon to be best friends.Complete

"How many romance books do you read?" Devin asks me. I shrug. "I like them," I say. I keep browsing, running my fingers along the spines. "So, you like romance then?" he asks me. I nod. "What's your favorite part of a love story?" "I like the very first kiss, but I like the second one even more," I say. I bite my lip and look at him. Oh. My. God. What the hell am I doing? But as life goes on Riley can't help but wonder if maybe he's not just her best friend, if she likes him as possibly something more. As her feelings deepen and become something greater it becomes more evident that she's falling, really hard. No matter how hard Riley tries she can't stop falling, she can't stop from loving him. Even if it tears her to pieces or even if it destroys their friendship. Pretty soon Riley is going to have to choose between walking the safe line of friendship or taking the unpaved path of love.
