When Kestrel became old enough to be a castle guard, she was thrilled! But then she met Nocturne, the queens personal guard. She's suspicious of him, and snarls when he tries to interact with her. They slowly become close friends, before the queen is assassinated. Nocturne takes over as King, and Kestrel was promoted to his personal guard. But then, something weird happens. Kestrel has to fight for her respect back.

There are 5 books planned in this unofficial sequel to our beloved wings of fire. I would like to give huge credits to Tui.Sutherland for inventing the wings of fire universe where this book takes place in, and for giving me the first book series that could entertain me for hours on end. FYI this book was originally drafted when I was much younger so spelling and punctuation mistakes are inevitable, I tried to catch them out by I am just unable to see mistakes in my own writing, so apologies for that.)
