Alexander, Levi, and Sarah were all born into trouble. They would never know what happen to them until seventeen years later. They all grew up in Berlin Germany, ending up being best friends. Levi and Sarah are siblings and end up getting a stepbrother named Ruslan. He suffered the same fate. They will never know for a long time.
Alexander ends up moving away from his childhood home. He leaves Germany and goes to America to attend a private school he was accepted into. Moving to Washington state was hard and now Alexander doesn't have his best friends. Soon, he meets his neighbor, a seventeen-year-old girl named Bethany. She helps him through school and with his home life. She convinces him to run away.
Alexander works multiple jobs and stays in different low-budget motels until he has the money to get to France. When he gets to France, something he doesn't think will happen, happens. As he sits in the wet grass, Alexander cries and sees a man walking up to him. What will happen next?
