Summary: 

Lan Xichen felt like there's lacking in his life. After both his sworn brothers died, he realized. He needed a partner, someone to spend the rest of his life with. He had always been with his sworn brothers, and so he didn't notice. Even if Jin Guangyao, the best candidate to be a partner, is there in front of him, yet he still didn't realize. After he lost his sworn brothers, he knew of the word 'loneliness'. However, when he finally noticed the person who had always been there but he never saw, he realized how blind he had been. He had taken for granted that person's presence. 

After that meeting with Jiang Cheng, Lan Xichen finally knew the word 'love'. The love that he always sees on his brother and Wei Wuxian, yet never really understood. This time, when he saw Jiang Cheng standing tall among the sea of people, he realized. His long asleep heart that always wanted to help people can't help but to beat for him. The man he always thought as a stranger, he never knew he wanted to be his partner now. However, as he had said, they are strangers to each other. Even now that they are brothers-in-law because of Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian's marriage, they didn't have something common between them. Can Lan Xichen overcome this obstacle between him and Jiang Cheng? 

How will he obtain Jiang Cheng - this 'stranger'? 

(A/N: just as I finished the Name, this popped up in my brain. It's because I reread the Refuse when one reader commented and I read it along the way. But, I think this ff will be the most realistic for me XD you'll see once you read this ^_^)

Lan WangJi's brother, Lan XiChen will also appear occasionally. This fanfic is from the point of view of Lan WangJi, and the first 2-part story serves to recap their story so far. However, I would recommend that you at least watch the drama before reading this fanfic, as plot points and sweet moments from the drama and novel will be revealed. Wei Ying, the birth name of Wei WuXian, also called The Yiling Partiarch (by those who fear him). Called Mo YuanXu when in his new body, until his real identity is revealed. Also called Senior Wei later on in the story. Lan XiChen, the commonly used name of Lan Zhan's brother. His birth name is Lan Huan, which is almost never used in the main story. ZeWu-Jun is his chosen name, used by most. Note: this is pure fanfic, and all images used are from the drama, unless otherwise stated. So, when Wei WuXian returns after ab absence of about a month, returning just in time to aid in the wipeout of the Wen Clan using some odd form of cultivation, Lan Zhan realizes something is wrong. The previously outgoing boy has turned inwards on himself. He no longer makes jokes, he smiles when anyone is looking, but the smile drops when nobody is paying attention. He laughs, but Lan Zhan knows they are faked. He flinches away from anyone, and Lan Zhan is sure that he could hear screaming at some point during the night. He is no longer creating mischief and breaking rules, and was often found alone, staring blankly into the distance. The only people who could touch him without him backing away was Wen Ning...and him. Lan Zhan realized this when he had grabbed Wei Wuxian to keep him from storming out of a room, and instead of fighting him off as he did with everyone else, he calmed. Unnerved by the drastic change in personality, and, though unwilling to admit it, worried for the slightly younger boy, Lan Zhan gets his father and brother to convince the Jiang clan to let them take Wei Wuxian back to the Cloud Recesses, under the pretence of having him attend more training, as an official Disciple in a few more months. The Jiang clan eagerly agreed, as such an opportunity was ra early given. Lan Zhan soon realizes, however, that Wei Wuxie went through far more than he was telling anyone, and that, just perhaps, Lan Zhan may be beginning to feel attracted to the boy. He wants to help him, and both boys find the road to love is not always straightforward as it seems.

So in my story I want Wei Wuxian to become cold toward Lan Wangji. Ah also, since there not much story about XianWang, this will be a XianWang. Anyway.... After leaving the burial mound, Wei a Wuxian decide to go take his revenge out of Wen Chao, Wang Lingjiao and Wen Zhuliu. He end up seeing Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji again. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji end up having a fall out. Wei Wuxian decided that he doesn't want to get involved with Lan Wangji anymore. 'He doesn't understand what I went through. Where were you when I needed you the most Lan Wangji. Why did you leave me behind?' Wei Wuxian ignore the look that Lan Wangji is giving him. Let see what happen next okay.
