Trent send letters to Xena everyday, they never met nor talk ever in their lives but they felt if they did, it be awkward for them cause their both are different species which Xena is a werewolf while Trent was a vampire and Trent knows they might be mates but Xena doesn't seem to notice it till they met rather than sending letters.
