Welcome to Mesquite, Nevada. A town near to the Tikaboo Mountains, the only authorized access point to Area 51. Population of 15,000, settled in 1880.
Now, meet Chai Bennet. Our narrator. She's an 8th grader at Hughes Middle School and lives with an older brother, Terry, and a mother, Chanelle. Chai is what we call a daydreamer, good at not paying attention. She likes nothing more than to be floating in her thoughts, due to the fact that she's learned her thoughts are better than people as her dad left a while back.
However, this is going to cost her. A lot.

They were glowing a light sapphire blue color. It was not a bright glow, but it was definitely a glow. Glowing eyes were not normal. Okay, at this point I had to admit it, I was no longer normal.
