It was dark that night, you could see the stars in the sky so clearly from where my sister and I were waiting for our parents to pick us up. The road itself was quiet and calm, but you could still faintly hear the music from the forest party off in the distance. We were on Wickery Bridge when my dad lost control of the car, it drove off the bridge and straight into the water. The look he gave me was full of sadness and fear, there were tears in his eyes, and that was enough to answer my question; we weren't going to survive.

My name is Elias Gilbert, I died on May 23, 2009, for 4 minutes and 43 seconds until I was revived. It left me with moderate TBI, Traumatic Brain Injury and hypoxic brain injury.
