There once was a girl named Shay Myers. Shay is the quiet one, you know the one you never notice? She is in all Honors classes, and always has her nose in a new book. She doesn't have many friends either, bust her BFF, and some friends that she barely ever talks to. Sounds kinda like the typical shy girl, right? Well there's something that's sets her apart from all the other shy girls in school. Her BFF is Haley Lucas.
Haley is the most popular girl in school, maybe even the whole town! She does it all, gymnastics, dance, softball, chorus, she's even head cheerleader! Her and Shay have been besties forever. But when Haley suddenly becomes "too popular" to hang out with shy little Shay anymore, Shay wonders if her friend will stick by her friends side, or brush her off like last weeks lunch?

Have you ever liked some guy that is popular, attractive and yet annoying, rude, mean at the same time? I'm sure nearly every girl has. Mikasa your typical girl who likes this really hot guy in her class but doesn't have the confidence to confess to him. Typical, isn't it? But don't think that they'll end up falling in love, that's too cliche. Instead it's going to be a whole twist and turn of events for this girl when she meets a boy called Alex whom she 'befriends.' Alex is the whole opposite of who Mikasa likes. Although, she becomes quite close to him, telling him her crush and him encouraging her and helping her out. Will spending time together bring them closer than just friends? A story that is nothing more closer to reality.
