In Byice, Dorali, Yvonne Donahue, a 17 year old city girl has had a tragic family incident that has depleted their whole life savings. They are no longer well off as her mother calls it. Yvonne's mother arranges for her to be married to one of the wealthiest people of the city named Julian McCoy. When it is time for the wedding however, Yvonne escapes and runs away from the pressures of her society.

19 year old Finn Ruan has made a name for himself out in the slums. Being know as the Bastard street lord has really built up his ego. And yet, he holds more secrets than anyone will ever know. Indy and Liam, his street family, are always looking out for him, but they can never understand why he can be so reclusive sometimes. But things begin to change when Finn saves a girl from some drunk street thugs and takes her in. The fact that they all have never seen her before really confuses them all. The girl, Daiesya, wants to get as far away from an unknown threat as possible, but can't seem to leave the intoxicating Bastard of the street.
