When Christina Hopkins' life crashes out of control, the only thing she can think of is to pretend it never happened. A declining state of depression along with a yearning to drugs and alcohol are her way of life until she comes across an unexpected gift, but it's too late. As the addictions get stronger, she is forced to give up her only hope of recovery – until she accepts an offer for therapy. Twenty years later, with the help of a single man, she gradually reshapes her past and catches up with her long-lost teenage years – but there's just one surprise left waiting for her.

This is the story I am going to use for the writing competition The Pencil Prize 2014, over at @thepencilprize.

I'm not quite sure if I'm going to continue it when the competition is over though.
