The world as we know it has come to an end. A rain-carried virus has wiped out nearly everyone in Scandinavia. Six years later, Danish siblings Simone and Ramus, accompanied by their friend Alma, emerge from the safety of the bunker where they have been hiding. After discovering all remnants of civilization gone, they join a group of fellow young survivors and together they head out on a danger-filled quest throughout the abandoned land in search of signs of life. The survivors think they have been set free from societal rules of the past, but they quickly find that even in a post-apocalyptic world there is love, jealousy and other coming-of-age dilemmas that young people have always faced.

Evelyn was kidnapped at the age of six, disappearing from her family's life as if she had never existed. Years passed, and the search continued... but Evelyn wasn't killed. She escaped, falling into the hands of a strange man, who gave her life... but in a different form. Raised on coldness, silence, discipline, and a deadly instinct. She calls him "Dad," his son "Big Brother"-they are the only ones she knows mercy for. Beyond that? A world where there's no room for weakness. But she's not who they think she is. She's the daughter of a buried past, and the twin of her missing half is still alive... waiting for her without knowing her. When Evelyn returns, no one knows who she is. No one recognizes her cold eyes, her hard steps, the mercy that has turned black. Can someone raised in the shadows return to the light? Or do some hearts... never heal?
