My name is Ruth Shadowheart and I'm a detective for the local police force and I have a few secrets. One of them is that I'm a dragon blood hybrid which means I can shift into a dragon and just about anything else whenever I want to. My other secret lies in my past. I've worked alone for four years until one day, I get assigned a partner. I never wanted to have a partner but now I don't have a choice so I do everything I can to keep him out of my life because I need to protect him but what happens when my new partner starts to creep into my life and my past starts to come back and haunt me? So, when my mundane existence comes to an end and I am offered a choice of whatever race I liked upon reincarnating into a fantasy world, of course I chose dragon.
