"Look, I love you and I care for you, but I refuse to go back in your home and be disrespected by your mom." She snapped at me, with tears swelling up in her brown eyes. Her voice cracking.

"Bae, listen I-" She cut me off

"I've been called some cruel words in my life, but never have anyone criticize me because my skin is a couple shades darker than theirs." She screamed, now with tears streaming down her cheeks,  disappearing into her cleavage. 

She noticed I was going to speak again, but she continued. 

"Just call me when she learns to communicate with other human beings." She finally spat out storming off, leaving a trail of tears on the sidewalk.
