Of Flames And Storms

Life isn't fair. Ember and Zakari both know this all too well.

Ember has BEEN VICTIM TO the worst in people more than once and has learned to fight for herself. Whether that means fighting with strangers who try to take advantage of her; or with her best friend and brother when they have pointed opinions about her lifestyle; Ember doesn't take anything from anyone anymore.

Zakari has WITNESSED the worst in people more than once and yet blames himself for all of it. Whether that means losing the people he cares about most in the world, or dealing with the unspeakable heartbreak that comes from so many different kinds of loss; Zakari won't let himself get close to anyone in fear of hurting them the way he has been hurt.

Ember WANTS to find someone that she trusts enough to let her walls fall for. Zakari NEEDS to find someone that is willing to break through his walls and rid him of his false guilt. However, neither one wants to believe that the other is that person.

When circumstances keep throwing them into situations where they can only rely on each other, will they be able to admit what they are both keeping hidden? Or will their personal demons drive them farther apart with no hope of coming back?
