Hogwarts was a castle with many mysteries: hidden passages were around every corner, and nobody could say for sure they had seen everything it had to offer. It was perfectly fine to find someone looking at a corridor in wonder - it didn't seem peculiar for them to have seen that specific corridor for the first time.
